A philological study on poisoning of Croci Stigma(番紅花)

Abstract

|
Croci Stigma is in use in the Korean medicine. The Korean medical doctors use Croci Stigma for activating blood flow and removing blood stasis(活血祛瘀), removing heat from the blood(凉血), dispersing accumulations of pathogen(散結), etc. We investigated toxicity, poisoning symptoms, poisoning treatment and prevention against poisoning of Croci Stigma. The results were summarized as follows： 1. The ingredients of poisoning from Croci Stigma mainly can cause stimulating symptoms on digestive system, urinary system, nervous system, circulatory system, etc and cause hypersensitive reaction. 2. The representative methods of poisoning treatment are promotion of vomiting, washing out the stomach, supplies of grape sugar and symptomatic treatment, etc. 3. In order to prevent against poisoning of Croci Stigma, the patients should keep usage, dosage and notes.
